PUBLISHED: April 2002 ISBN: 0-373-63242-8 I hate that cover. I remember complaining that it looked like some sort of ugly purple bruise. Some people made a habit of complaining about all the Gold Eagle covers, but I wasn't one of them. I actually think they did a pretty good job on a lot of them. (I particularly like the cover to State of... I mean Air Raid.) I think this was the only cover I actually wrote to them to complain about. And if memory serves, this book took longer to sell out than my others. The books by this time were selling out in nine months, but this one took a few months longer. I don't know what they were printing up for books...I mean, I know what we were selling at the start, because they told me, but as time went on they never let me know again. I know the books were selling out faster, but I don't know if they were printing up more copies. It may have been that at this point Gold Eagle started printing up more books to meet the increasing demand, so that's why this book alone of my later books took a little longer to sell out. If not, I blame that cover. Ugly, ugly, ugly. |
